About Us

In 2011, Smitten Coffee Roasters opened our doors at a small 400 sqft outlet at Robertson Quay. It was in the early days of Singapore's specialty coffee scene, and there were few who were roasting their own coffee at that time. So we set out to roast our own, the way we love it, and the way we hoped our customers would love. Our founder Darren geeked out on figuring out coffee roasting on his own, and after much experimentation, Thumper -- our first signature espresso blend -- was born.

​Fast forward 10 years later, Smitten has grown with the support of our partners over the years. We are now three spaces strong, including a SFA-licensed roastery, an office cum coffee academy, and a cafe Necessary Provisions located at Tanglin.

Along the way we obtained the internationally recognised Authorised Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Trainer (AST) certification, which allows us to train and certify fellow coffee professionals and coffee-lovers. We are also humbled to represent some of the top coffee equipment brands in Singapore and the region.

From learning about cutting-edge molecular coffee in the labs of Seattle, to playing a part in community empowerment through our direct trade with female Aceh farmers, to meeting like-minded professionals and coffee-lovers through coffee festivals in Singapore and all over the world, coffee continues to be an exhilarating and rewarding journey for us. 

At the heart of it all, our spirit stays the same -- we believe there is always a better cup, and that is what we're constantly working towards every day.
